About The Role

Non-Clinical Registered Veterinary Nurse - Pharmacy Manager

Monday - Friday | Up to £34,000, Depending on Experience | Streatham Hill, South-West London
Are you a Registered Veterinary Nurse looking for something within the industry that isn't full-time nursing? At Streatham Hill Vets, we are looking for a methodical RVN to run our Pharmacy department at our busy, award-winning, independent 24-hour hospital in Streatham Hill, SW London.
This role would suit a highly organised RVN looking to diversify, who thrives in a fast-paced clinical setting, whilst taking pride in accuracy and attention to detail. You'll have the perfect mix of time in the pharmacy, whilst also keeping your foot in the door with clinical work when the clinical team on the floor needs you to support them as a nurse.
The successful RVN will work alongside our existing Pharmacy Manager, working rotating shifts (Monday - Friday, 7:30am-4pm, or 11:30pm - 8pm), supporting our vet team by managing medications, maintaining meticulously accurate stock levels, and ensuring the safe dispensing and ordering or pharmaceutical products.
Key Responsibilities
  • Dispense veterinary medications in accordance with veterinary prescriptions
  • Run the pharmacy room and take pride in keeping things running and organised
  • Order pharmaceutical and consumable stock from approved suppliers
  • Monitor stock levels and maintain appropriate inventory
  • Check deliveries and ensure correct storage of medicines
  • Manage expiry dates and oversee stock rotation
  • Maintain accurate pharmacy records in line with regulatory requirements
  • Assist the veterinary team with medication preparation and queries
  • Keep the pharmacy area organised, clean, and compliant with safety standards
  • Help out on the floor when needed, keeping up to date with your nursing skills

Requirements

  • Strong organisational and inventory management skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Able to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Good communication and computer skills
  • A proactive, reliable, and conscientious approach to work
  • Registered Veterinary Nurse

What We Offer

  • Full-time position (40 hours per week) - no weekends
  • Supportive, friendly working environment
  • Opportunities for training and professional development
  • Salary up to £34,000
You will work on a two week rolling rota, working a mix of early and late shifts with absolutely no weekends! Early shifts are 7:30am-4pm, and late shifts are 11:30am-8pm.
